Track Session

Both weather & body were not ideal for today's track session!
Heavy rain all morning; grass hadn't been cut; paspalum & seeds everywhere; trainers soaked during warm-up - but I think the real difficulty came from not being properly recovered from Sunday's 4 hours rough run over rocks, etc. The body & legs were just not ready to do what was expected of them! I'll wait for Ewen's confirmation or otherwise on the following :-

20 minutes slow jog warm-up; 4x100m strides - done!

10 minutes walk around & stretch - done!

2x200m in 60 secs. - 1:45 min. intervals.
1:01.6; 1:00.2
Slower than usual - legs wouldn't respond as they should!

10 minutes rest - done!

2x400m in 2:06 mins. - 2 mins. intervals.
2:11.8; 2:19.7
Definitely not up to standard; heavy legs that became lactic each repeat with about 20m to go.

10 minutes rest - done!

2x200m in 60 secs. - 1.45 mins. intervals.
1:03.9; 1:00.6
Flat out getting to the finish & completely out of breath.

Warm-down - Cut short to fast walk around 400m lane; walk to car; home to a hot shower!

  1. LL, those "slow" splits of which you speak bear a remarkable similarity to the targets that precede them.

Looks like a session that you "toughed out". Well done!

    Cheers,
    Ben

  2. Yes, I lnow they're "close", Bennyr; but I expect them to be "under" not "over" the time Ewen sets!!

  3. Considering the horrible conditions you were subjected to, those splits are pretty good. Im sure Ewen will agree, if the grass was cut and dry the majority of the splits would have been under.

The main thing is you battled on and didn't give up. Good work.

  4. CB shouldn't be so hard on herself!

89% is definately a High Distinction!
    Well Deserved, too.

  5. Sounds like a tough day on the track Chickybabe. But one, whilst you didn't hit your targets, was one where you dug deep and gave it all you had. When we ran through the cows and bulls today on part of the 6 Foot Track, I thought of you and had a quiet chuckle to myself, remembering the picture you posted on Cool Running of the cow with glasses.

  6. Your classmates reckon you did well! Running on wet grass is hard... we cancelled our track session last night for that reason!
